Before having an insertion, you will need an initial appointment with the doctor to discuss the procedure, get any required tests done and receive the script for the implant.
The cost for the initial appointment is $107 and you will get $43.90 back from Medicare.
Your out of pocket cost will be $63.10.
IUD Removal Procedure
The IUD Removal Procedure costs $137 and you will get back $43.90 from Medicare.
Your out of pocket cost will be $93.10.
IUD Removal and Re-Insertion
The cost for both an IUD removal and an IUD Insertion on the same day is $475 and you will get $270 back from Medicare.
Your out of pocket cost will be $205.
Please note that there may be an extra fee for appointments after 6pm or on weekends. A higher rebate from Medicare or health insurance may apply.
